The article presents an analysis of the functioning theories of optimal locations for agricultural and industrial activities. He also describes the spatial theory of substitution according to Predöhl, which defines the factors determining the location of an enterprise in general and the so-called general theory of spatial management according to Löschema. As part of this analysis, an attempt was made to identify problems and development perspectives for the field of knowledge which is spatial management. The theories presented in the article allow to optimize the location of power plants. This is of great importance for the economy. It allows to use local resources and receive renewable raw materials and process them will take place at an appropriate distance from suppliers due to the high costs of direct delivery to the power plant. At the same time, it will increase employment and create a new sales sector as well as introduce innovations, for example more modern and ecological processes of energy production.
