Mobile phones became a very important element of well-developed societies. It is not only a device, but also a “smart” part of our life. Very often this devices support people with the answers to the various questions, like: opening hours, weather forecast, news, sport games results, clues, etc. So in a way, that devices solves everyday life’s issues and generally provides relief to people’s brains, by storing all the information outside their heads. People are increasingly treating their mobile phones as data storage banks. It provides an unlimited and instant access to the knowledge, every time they need it. It means that mobile phones became a very important part of people’s lives, especially the young generation, which can’t imagine living without it [1]. Mobile devices are so important, that they even appear to be addictive [2] and for some people it seems impossible to live without its assistance.

(Un)fortunately the fact that a mobile phone is an inherent part of people’s lives is true. But do people really know how to use it efficiently? How to get the best from these small devices, to make their life easier? Do they really know how to control the functions or are they just following the paths set by hints, notifications, suggestions or even forced calls for action displayed on the screen? In this article, authors focused on the abilities of young people, to use mobile phones and technologies. Their abilities were initially examined with declarations, then compared with practical skills. Such a research discovered sad fact, that users probably can’t actually use their devices effectively.
